Barnsley Golf Club Ladies is only small in numbers compared to some of the larger private clubs but what we lack in numbers, we more than make up for in enthusiasm. As well as having the Lady Captain and Lady Vice Captain serving on the committee, we also have a lady who is the entertainments officer and also a lady member has taken up one of the three spaces on the committee that were up for grabs at the AGM this year.

The ladies section meet up every Sunday morning, come sun, wind, rain or snow to play golf and we are joined by our husbands (the majority of which are obviously golfers). We also enjoy travelling to other clubs to take part in mixed double competitions (girls on tour).  As well as the clubs which are fairly local we are now in our fourth year of travelling to Whitby Golf Club to take part in their mixed doubles competition, which we like to make a weekend of, arriving in Whitby on Friday and leaving on the Sunday.

We are competitive within our small group but we also like to enjoy our golf and are a friendly little bunch.
